Why practices trust CredentialCal

No fake reviews, no invented stats — just how the product actually works.

Per-item, per-provider alerts

Not a monthly digest. Every credential, license, and enrollment gets its own 90/60/30/7-day alert ladder by email and in-app, so nothing hides in a spreadsheet row.

CAQH and payer cycles tracked

CAQH re-attestation runs on a 120-day cycle and a lapse cascades to every payer enrollment. CredentialCal watches that window and warns you before it closes.

You stay in control

We never file applications, submit renewals, complete attestations, or pay fees on your behalf. CredentialCal reminds and organizes; you decide and act.

Your card never touches our servers

Billing runs entirely through Stripe's infrastructure — your payment card details never pass through CredentialCal.

Bring your existing spreadsheet

Import your current Excel or CSV with a column-mapping step, and see your next 30/60/90-day exposure list within minutes.

Built for small practices

Designed for 1-10 provider practices where one admin runs all credentialing — not an enterprise CVO platform with an enterprise minimum.

Frequently asked questions

Straight answers about how CredentialCal keeps your practice ahead of every credentialing deadline.

What does CredentialCal actually do?+

CredentialCal tracks your providers' credentials, licenses, and renewal deadlines in one place — state medical licenses, DEA registrations, board certifications, CME, CAQH attestation, payer enrollments, hospital privileges, and Medicare/PECOS revalidation — and sends reminders before each one expires. It is an organizational and reminder tool; it does not file or renew anything for you.

How do the alerts work?+

Each credential item has its own alert ladder — by default 90, 60, 30, and 7 days before the deadline — delivered by email and shown in-app. Alerts are per-item and per-provider, not a single monthly summary, and you can configure the thresholds in your settings.

Does CredentialCal file my applications or renewals for me?+

No. CredentialCal does not file applications, submit renewals, complete CAQH attestations, or pay fees on your behalf, and it does not represent you before any board, payer, or registry. You remain the accountable party. Our job is to make sure a deadline never sneaks up on you.

Is CredentialCal a substitute for a credentialing specialist or legal advice?+

No. CredentialCal is an informational tracking and reminder tool — not a credentialing, licensing, or regulatory authority, not a CVO, and not legal, compliance, or medical-staffing advice. Requirements vary by board, state, payer, and facility and change over time. Always verify requirements and deadlines directly with the relevant board, payer, CAQH, or accreditation body.

How accurate are the deadlines and reminders?+

Reminders are calculated from the dates and details you enter, so they are only as accurate as your inputs. Reference material like renewal cycles and payer workflows is compiled from public and general industry sources and may be incomplete or out of date. Treat CredentialCal as a safety net on top of your own verification, not a replacement for it.

How does the CAQH attestation monitor work?+

CAQH requires re-attestation roughly every 120 days, and a missed window can suspend your standing with multiple payers at once. CredentialCal tracks that cycle and fires alerts ahead of the deadline so you can re-attest before it lapses.

Can I import my existing credentialing spreadsheet?+

Yes. You can upload your existing Excel or CSV file and map your columns to CredentialCal's fields. Once imported, you immediately see your upcoming 30/60/90-day exposure and any overdue items.

Which payers and credential types are covered?+

The payer workflow library includes major commercial and government payers such as Aetna, Cigna, UnitedHealthcare, BCBS, Humana, and Medicare/PECOS, with enrollment steps, required forms, and portal links. Tracked credential types include state medical licenses, DEA, board certification, CME, CAQH, payer enrollments, hospital privileges, and Medicare revalidation.

How does billing work?+

Plans start with a 14-day free trial and are billed monthly through Stripe. Pricing scales with the number of providers. You can cancel anytime from your account settings; cancellation stops future charges at the end of the current billing period.

Is my data private and secure?+

Your account and credentialing data are stored securely, with encryption in transit, hashed passwords, and access controls, and are used only to power your tracking and reminders. Billing is handled by Stripe — your card details never touch our servers — and reminder email is sent via Brevo. We don't sell your personal information.

Does CredentialCal store patient records?+

No. CredentialCal is built to track provider credentials and deadlines, not patient health records. We ask that you enter only the provider and credential information needed for tracking and avoid submitting patient data or unnecessary sensitive information.

How is this different from enterprise credentialing software?+

Tools like Modio and Symplr are built for large health systems and CVOs, with pricing and minimums aimed at 20+ providers. CredentialCal is built for 1-10 provider practices that run credentialing from a spreadsheet today — same discipline, right size, no enterprise contract.
